Raymond started out as Newton, platted in 1838 at what is now the crossing of State Routes 347 and 739. Folks called the place "Raymond's" after postmaster John Raymond, and the shorter name stuck. Today it's a small community of about 280 people in Liberty Township, Union County, with Raymond Elementary in town and farm fields on every side. Benjamin Franklin Plumbing of Delaware sends licensed plumbers out to Raymond and the rest of the township.
We're The Punctual Plumber, and we back it with cash: if we're late, we pay you $5 a minute, up to $300.
Housing in the Raymond area splits into two eras. Census estimates put about a third of the homes in ZIP 43067 before 1940, mostly in and around the old village center. Another large share was built in the 1990s and 2000s as country homes went up along the township roads. The older houses tend to need repiping, drain line work and updated water lines. The newer ones are now on their first or second round of water heaters, well pumps and pressure tanks.
There's no city water out here. Most Liberty Township homes draw from private wells, and Union County lists roughly 9,000 private water systems countywide. Well water often brings hardness, iron or sulfur odor, so water treatment comes up a lot. On sewer, many homes use septic systems, and in 2017 Union County health officials moved to have homes in Raymond connect to a county-installed sewer system. Your setup depends on your street, and our plumbers work with either one.
When a Raymond home loses water, the well is usually the first suspect: a worn pump, a failed pressure switch or a waterlogged pressure tank. We troubleshoot the whole system, then show you what we found and what each option costs before we touch anything. We also check your water heater's age and look for hard-water scale, since well water can wear a heater out faster. Our trucks carry common well and water heater parts, so most problems are fixed on the first trip.
Open country means wind, and wind finds pipes on outside walls. Before winter, drain and shut off hose bibs, heat or insulate the well pressure tank if it sits in a garage or crawlspace, and protect hydrant and barn lines. In spring, test the sump pump before the thaw. If you have a softener, check the salt level every month or so, and flush the water heater once a year to clear out well sediment.

It could be the pump, the pressure switch, a clogged filter or a pressure tank that has lost its air charge. We test each part and tell you which one is the problem before you pay for a fix.
It can be. Well water varies from one property to the next, and hardness, iron and sulfur odor are all common in rural Ohio. We'll test your water and recommend a softener or filter only if it makes sense.
Yes. We handle the plumbing inside the house and the drain line out to the tank. If a drain backs up, we'll find out whether the clog is in the house, in the line or further out.
Older homes may still have galvanized supply pipe or cast-iron drains that rust from the inside. Low pressure, discolored water or slow drains are early signs. A camera inspection and a plumbing check will tell you where things stand.
Yes. That includes Raymond, Liberty Township and nearby rural areas of Union County.
