Polaris isn't a town of its own. It's the busy area around Polaris Parkway and I-71 in the far southern end of Delaware County, where Columbus, Westerville and Orange Township meet. Polaris Fashion Place opened there in 2001, and since then the area has filled in with apartments, condominiums, single-family neighborhoods, offices and restaurants. It uses the 43240 ZIP code. Benjamin Franklin Plumbing of Delaware is based just up the road in Delaware.
We're The Punctual Plumber, and we put money on it. If we're late, we pay you $5 a minute, up to $300.
Almost everything in the Polaris area was built since the 1990s, and the area has seen more development than anywhere else in Orange Township. Much of the housing is condominiums, townhomes and apartments alongside single-family neighborhoods, so the plumbing calls are a mix. In attached homes it's water heaters, shutoff valves, supply lines and leaks that affect a neighbor. In single-family homes it's first-generation water heaters, sump pumps and pressure-reducing valves reaching the end of their lives.
Water and sewer providers vary by address in the Polaris area. Orange Township is served by Del-Co Water and the Delaware County Regional Sewer District, and parts of the area that sit within the city limits of Columbus or Westerville can be on a different provider. Del-Co water is moderately hard, about 7 to 8 grains per gallon, which leaves scale in water heaters and fixtures over time. Central Ohio's soil is clay-heavy and drains slowly.
Calls in the Polaris area depend on the building. In condos and townhomes, a failed water heater or a leaking supply line can affect more than one unit, so we shut water off fast and tell you what's covered by you and what's covered by your association. In single-family homes, water heaters and sump pumps near the end of their service life are the repeat calls. Our techs test your water pressure and check the age of your water heater on every visit. Our trucks are stocked, and most calls are fixed on the first visit.
Before the first hard freeze, disconnect your garden hoses, shut off and drain the outdoor faucets, and insulate any pipes in unheated spaces. Know where your main shutoff is, especially in a condo or townhome, so you can stop a leak fast. Flush the water heater once a year to clear sediment and scale. If you have a sump pump, test it and its battery backup before the spring rain and snowmelt.

Hugo arrived at my house within the window of time I was expecting which was helpful. I could tell he knew what he was talking about. He gave me several options including an option to finance the replacement of my hot water heater. In short, he was kind, courteous and professional.
No. Polaris is a development and shopping area where Columbus, Westerville and Orange Township meet, and it uses ZIP code 43240. We serve homes throughout the area, no matter which municipality your address is in.
It depends on your association's rules and your policy. Usually the water heater inside your unit is your responsibility, while the building's common plumbing may be your association's. We can shut off the leak, replace the water heater, and give you the paperwork to send to your insurer or association.
Most tank water heaters last 8 to 12 years, and hard water can cut that short. Many homes in the area are built in the 2000s and are already on a second water heater. If yours is past 10 years old, rusting at the base or popping as it heats, have us look at it before it fails.
You don't have to have one. Del-Co water is moderately hard, though, and a softener cuts down on scale in water heaters, tankless units, dishwashers and fixtures. We'll test your water and tell you what makes sense.
Yes. We serve the Delaware County side of Westerville, Lewis Center, Orange Township and the rest of our Delaware County service area.
