Danbury is the largest city in western Connecticut and the heart of the greater Danbury area, the historic "Hat City" on the New York border, home to Western Connecticut State University, the Danbury Fair Mall, and a diverse mix of historic downtown neighborhoods, mid-century suburbs, condos, and the corporate corridor along I-84. It's the home base for Benjamin Franklin Plumbing® of Danbury, your locally based, on-time team.

Danbury's water comes largely from the City of Danbury Water Department, which draws on a network of reservoirs, including Margerie, West Lake, Padanaram, and Kohanza, and a well field, treated at the city's own plants. Parts of the area are served by Aquarion Water Company, while many homes in outer Danbury rely on private bedrock wells, which can carry hardness, iron, manganese, and the naturally occurring arsenic, uranium, and radon found in Connecticut's crystalline bedrock. For those homes, testing and the right treatment matter.
Danbury's housing is the most varied in the area: the historic Hat City neighborhoods have older homes that may carry galvanized, cast-iron, or lead-era plumbing, candidates for repiping and lead service line replacement, alongside mid-century and newer suburbs, condos, and apartments. New England winters bring hard freezes and frozen-pipe risk, full basements near the Still River and area wetlands benefit from sump pumps, and the city's mall, downtown, university, and corporate corridor rely on dependable commercial plumbing.
As the hometown team, we know Danbury's neighborhoods, its varied housing, and its water, and our trucks are a familiar sight across the city. We stock them to handle the water heaters, repipes, drain work, sump pumps, and well and treatment service Danbury homes actually need, resolving most visits in a single trip, and we serve the city's many businesses too.

Danbury comfort is a true four-season effort. Before winter, insulate exposed pipes and protect any well houses against hard freezes, a frozen pipe is one of our most common cold-weather calls. Before the wet spring, test your sump pump and battery backup. Flush your water heater yearly, and if you're on a well, test your water and keep your treatment maintained.

I highly recommend this company. They were quick and responsive in scheduling my service, and the plumber they sent out was fantastic. Sometimes it’s hard to find a plumber, but search no more. Use them! I certainly will use them again. Most importantly, their prices are very reasonable and competitive.

Outstanding experience! A polite young man Mr. Amado handled a small repair for us, and everything went seamlessly. Scheduling through the call center was quick, communication was stellar, and the pricing and workmanship were top-notch. As someone who has worked in the service industry for a long time, I truly appreciate the commitment to customer service and communication training shown here. The quality of work still needs to stand the test of time, but the overall experience was 10 out of 10. I won't hesitate to use them again!

Daniel was great!! He was very prompt and explained the workings of the new water heater. The company is awesome. Now you could find a cheaper water heater and cheaper labor but I tried one of those water heaters from the big box store and it failed after only 4 years. The ones that Benjamin Franklin sells are MADE IN THE USA instead of a foreign country. Give them a try, you won’t be sorry!

10/10, no doubt about it. Lucas was prompt, professional, and knowledgeable. We had an issue with our water heater that left us without hot water or heat this fall. He quickly diagnosed the problems, explained his findings in excellent detail, and got everything fixed. He also went the extra mile in a couple of ways I didn’t expect, which I really appreciated. I’d absolutely recommend Lucas!

We had our water heater repaired and had a new water filter system installed after the technician suggested it. He was friendly and factual. After his visit we had to have another repair man to set the water heater temperature. Now it is working fine.

Christian was a very kind and pleasant young man. He did an exceptional job replacing my kitchen sink faucet and incinerator. He was thorough and helped to get the smell out of our pipes I would recommend him for any job.

Our plumber, Jared was efficient and understood our issue quickly! Very respectful of us and property and we highly recommend this company.

A full gas water heater installation -- quick install with courteous service. Jon Hare and Luke Stelly gave excellent advice and were finished with the install in less 3 hours (including purchasing the unit itself)! Thanks!

Luke was awesome! I am so happy that I picked your company to do my repair! I will be using your company again. Thank you for your awesome service! I would highly recommend your company to anyone needing service done at their home!

The guys were personable, have plumbing experience and seemed knowledgeable of the situation.
Most of the city is served by the City of Danbury Water Department from its reservoirs and well field; parts of the area are on Aquarion; and outer-Danbury homes are often on private wells. We work with all of them, including well-water testing and treatment.
Possibly. Older Hat City homes may have galvanized, cast-iron, or lead-era pipe and service lines. If you see rusty water, low pressure, or repeated leaks, we inspect and recommend repiping or water-line replacement honestly.
Yes. Connecticut bedrock wells can carry hardness, iron, manganese, arsenic, uranium, and radon, and the water is often acidic. After a water test, we install the right filtration, neutralizer, or softener.
Yes. As the area's largest city, Danbury has a mall, downtown, university, and corporate corridor, and we provide commercial plumbing with 24/7 emergency response.
Yes, our emergency plumbers answer 24/7, every day, with the On-Time Guarantee and no after-hours fees.
