Buckhead takes its name from a buck's head mounted at a tavern near Peachtree and Paces Ferry in the 1830s. A century later it was where Atlanta built its finest houses. Peachtree Heights, Garden Hills, Brookwood Hills and Peachtree Park filled in through the 1910s to the 1940s with Tudor, Colonial Revival and Mediterranean homes under a heavy canopy of oaks. The Atlanta History Center and the Governor's Mansion sit just up West Paces Ferry Road. Our shop on Lambert Drive is minutes away.
We're The Punctual Plumber, and we put money on it. If we're late, we pay you $5 a minute, up to $300. And with flexible financing on larger jobs, the right repair doesn't have to wait.
Emergency Plumbing: Burst pipes, sewer backups, water heater failures, gas smells and no-water calls, including nights and weekends.
Sewer Line Camera Inspection & Replacement: Buckhead's oldest homes often still drain through clay or cast-iron laterals, and its oaks are among the biggest in the city. Long runs to the street on large lots mean roots have plenty of places to get in. We camera the full length and show you exactly where the problem is.
Water Heaters & Tankless: Large Buckhead homes often run two tanks, or one that can't keep up. A tankless system, or two units working together, delivers hot water to every bathroom at once, uses less energy because it isn't keeping tanks hot around the clock and typically lasts around 20 years, against 8 to 12 for a tank. We size and upgrade the gas line as part of the job, and financing is available.
Whole-Home Repiping: Replacing galvanized and aging copper supply lines in historic homes, planned around finished walls, millwork and plaster.
Gas Line Installation & Repair: Gas lines for ranges, outdoor kitchens, fire pits, pool heaters and generators, plus testing of older gas piping.
Water Filtration & Whole-Home Water Quality: In-home water testing, whole-home filtration, under-sink drinking water systems and sediment protection for water heaters, for better water at every tap and longer-lasting plumbing.
Drain Cleaning & Hydro Jetting: Kitchen, bath and main-line cleaning, with hydro jetting to clear roots and buildup from long sewer runs.
Water Pressure & Recirculation: Pressure-reducing valves, low-pressure diagnosis in large homes and hot-water recirculation so distant bathrooms get hot water fast.
Leak Detection: Finding hidden leaks in walls, slabs and crawlspaces before they damage hardwood, plaster or finished basements.
Fixtures, Faucets & Luxury Bath Installations: Steam showers, freestanding tubs, high-end fixtures and kitchen installations, done neatly in finished homes.
Outdoor Plumbing: Hose bibs, irrigation shutoffs and yard lines that hold up through a hard Georgia freeze.
Buckhead's housing runs from 1910s estate homes in Peachtree Heights to 1920s and '30s revival houses in Garden Hills and Brookwood Hills, postwar homes in Peachtree Park and new construction on lots where older houses were torn down. Those are very different plumbing systems. A 90-year-old house may still have cast-iron drains and a clay sewer lateral, while the new build next door has PEX, a tankless system and a pressure-reducing valve. We work on both every week.
Water and sewer come from the City of Atlanta Department of Watershed Management. The issues here are size and age. Large homes with long pipe runs see slow hot water and pressure problems, and mature trees put roots into older sewer lines. Many homes sit on sloped lots with finished basements, where a failed pump or a backup does real damage.
Your water is treated by the City of Atlanta Department of Watershed Management to meet federal drinking water standards. But by the time it reaches your tap in Buckhead, it has traveled through miles of city mains and then through your own pipes, and in large homes with long pipe runs, some still fed by original galvanized or early copper lines, that last stretch matters. When we test water in Intown homes, we regularly find the taste and smell of chlorine-based disinfectants, along with sediment and rust from aging pipe.
That affects more than your drinking glass. It's the water you shower in, brush your teeth with, wash clothes and dishes in and cook with. Sediment also wears out the equipment you've paid for, including water heaters, tankless units, faucets, dishwashers and washing machines, and shortens the life of the plumbing itself.
Every visit we make includes a free test of your water for chlorine, and we'll show you the results before recommending anything. If you want a fuller picture, ask about testing for sediment and other issues too. Your options include:
Whole-home filtration: Filters every tap and shower in the house, reducing chlorine taste and odor, sediment and rust, for better water for bathing, washing and cooking, and less wear on pipes, fixtures and appliances.
Drinking water systems: Under-sink reverse osmosis or carbon filtration for cleaner-tasting water for drinking, coffee and cooking.
Sediment protection for water heaters: A sediment filter ahead of a tank or tankless water heater helps it run efficiently and last longer.
Replacing a long sewer lateral on a large lot, repiping a historic home or installing a whole-house tankless system is a significant project. Benjamin Franklin Plumbing of Intown Atlanta offers flexible financing with monthly payment options, subject to credit approval, so the work can be done on your timeline, not the pipe's.
You'll see the up-front price first, then choose how to pay. Ask your technician about financing on any job, or apply on our financing page before your visit.

Buckhead calls often come down to scale. A hot-water line that takes two minutes to warm up in a far bathroom. A main sewer line that backs up into a finished basement because roots found a joint 80 feet from the house. A renovation that left old and new pipe joined in a wall. That's why our techs check water pressure, the age of your water heaters and the main shutoff on every visit, and recommend a sewer camera inspection when the lateral is original. Our trucks are stocked, and most calls are fixed on the first visit.
In a large Buckhead home, small symptoms in one corner of the house can point to big problems elsewhere. Call us if you notice:
A far bathroom that takes minutes to get hot water
Water in a finished basement after heavy rain
A sump or ejector pump that runs constantly or alarms
Slow, gurgling or repeatedly clogged drains
More than one fixture backing up at the same time
Hot water that runs out early or never gets hot enough
Damp spots, stains or a water bill that rises for no clear reason
On time: We arrive in the window we promised, in clean uniforms with shoe covers, or we pay you $5 a minute, up to $300.
Diagnosis: We find the root cause, using a high-definition camera on drain and sewer lines when needed.
Free water test: Every visit includes a free chlorine test of your water, with the results explained on the spot.
Up-front price: You get the exact price, with good, better and best options and financing available, before any work begins.
Clean finish: We complete the work and clean up before we leave.
There's no single price, because cost depends on where the problem is, how severe it is, the materials and the repair method. A drain clearing is a modest bill. Replacing a long sewer lateral across a large lot, repiping a 1920s estate home or installing a whole-house tankless system is a significant project, and financing is available. Either way, you'll see the full price before we start, with no meter running, and larger jobs can be financed with monthly payments, subject to credit approval.

Before a hard freeze, disconnect hoses, shut off irrigation and pool fill lines and protect pipes in garages and unheated spaces. Test sump and ejector pumps in finished basements before the summer storm season. In late summer, roots move into sewer lines as the soil dries, so a slow or gurgling main drain is worth a call. Before hosting season, flush your water heaters and have slow drains cleared.

I highly recommend this company. They were quick and responsive in scheduling my service, and the plumber they sent out was fantastic. Sometimes it’s hard to find a plumber, but search no more. Use them! I certainly will use them again. Most importantly, their prices are very reasonable and competitive.

Outstanding experience! A polite young man Mr. Amado handled a small repair for us, and everything went seamlessly. Scheduling through the call center was quick, communication was stellar, and the pricing and workmanship were top-notch. As someone who has worked in the service industry for a long time, I truly appreciate the commitment to customer service and communication training shown here. The quality of work still needs to stand the test of time, but the overall experience was 10 out of 10. I won't hesitate to use them again!

Daniel was great!! He was very prompt and explained the workings of the new water heater. The company is awesome. Now you could find a cheaper water heater and cheaper labor but I tried one of those water heaters from the big box store and it failed after only 4 years. The ones that Benjamin Franklin sells are MADE IN THE USA instead of a foreign country. Give them a try, you won’t be sorry!

10/10, no doubt about it. Lucas was prompt, professional, and knowledgeable. We had an issue with our water heater that left us without hot water or heat this fall. He quickly diagnosed the problems, explained his findings in excellent detail, and got everything fixed. He also went the extra mile in a couple of ways I didn’t expect, which I really appreciated. I’d absolutely recommend Lucas!

We had our water heater repaired and had a new water filter system installed after the technician suggested it. He was friendly and factual. After his visit we had to have another repair man to set the water heater temperature. Now it is working fine.

Christian was a very kind and pleasant young man. He did an exceptional job replacing my kitchen sink faucet and incinerator. He was thorough and helped to get the smell out of our pipes I would recommend him for any job.
Larry Murphy
Our plumber, Jared was efficient and understood our issue quickly! Very respectful of us and property and we highly recommend this company.
Jeremiah Fisher
A full gas water heater installation -- quick install with courteous service. Jon Hare and Luke Stelly gave excellent advice and were finished with the install in less 3 hours (including purchasing the unit itself)! Thanks!
Tammy Spencer
Luke was awesome! I am so happy that I picked your company to do my repair! I will be using your company again. Thank you for your awesome service! I would highly recommend your company to anyone needing service done at their home!

The guys were personable, have plumbing experience and seemed knowledgeable of the situation.
In larger homes, the water heater can be a long way from the farthest bathroom. A hot-water recirculation system or a point-of-use tankless unit fixes that. We'll look at the layout and recommend the simplest option.
Often, yes. A properly sized tankless system, sometimes two units working together, can supply several bathrooms at once and never runs out. Most homes need a larger gas line to run one, and we handle that as part of the installation.
In Buckhead, it's usually tree roots in an older clay or cast-iron lateral. On large lots the line can be long, with many joints for roots to get into. A camera inspection shows where the damage is and whether a spot repair or replacement makes sense.
Yes. We offer flexible financing with monthly payment options, subject to credit approval, on larger jobs like sewer line replacement, whole-home repiping and tankless water heater systems. You'll get the up-front price first, then choose how to pay. Ask your technician or apply on our financing page.
Yes. We plan access before we open anything, work from basements and crawlspaces where we can and protect floors and finishes. If a wall has to be opened, we'll show you where and why first.
