Austin is the vibrant capital of Texas and the heart of the metro we serve. It’s a fast-growing city of historic neighborhoods, booming suburbs, and everything in between. From the established homes of North and Central Austin to the newer communities spreading across Williamson and Travis counties, Benjamin Franklin Plumbing® of North Austin is proud to be the on-time plumber Austin homeowners count on.
We carry one of the most trusted names in American plumbing, a brand named Forbes' Top Ranked Plumbing Company of 2024, but the people answering your call are your Austin-area neighbors. We are rated 4.8 stars across more than 1,300 reviews. We're the punctual plumbers: if there's any delay, it's you we pay, $5 a minute, up to $300.
Every Austin home has access to our full range of plumbing services. The menu is the same across our entire North Austin and Williamson County service area, and each service links to the brand page with full details:
Around-the-clock emergency service dispatched for Austin homeowners facing burst pipes, severe leaks, sewer backups, water heater failures, and slab leaks. We are available day or night, weekends and holidays.
Water softeners, filtration, and whole-home treatment for the very hard limestone water that defines Austin and Central Texas. The area’s water is among the hardest in the country, which scales fixtures and pipes and shortens appliance life. Ask about our current water-softener and softener-plus-filtration offers. A water test shows exactly what your home needs.
We offer slab leak detection and repair and whole-home leak detection. Most Austin homes sit on concrete slabs, and Central Texas's expansive clay shifts with wet/dry cycles, stressing the pipes beneath the slab. We pinpoint hidden leaks with advanced equipment and repair them before they undermine your foundation.
We can help with water heater repair, replacement, and installation, including tankless systems. Hard-water scale shortens heater life here (and many are in attics, where a failure floods the ceiling below), so flushing, replacement, and energy-efficient tankless upgrades are popular. Ask about our current tankless and water-heater offers.
Pipe repair and whole-home repiping, for older Austin homes with aging or corroded pipe, and for leaking pipe and water line repair and replacement, in durable modern materials like PEX.
We also offer frozen pipe service. Central Texas mostly stays mild, but a hard freeze (like February 2021) can burst exposed and attic pipes. We thaw, repair, and help you protect vulnerable lines before the next cold snap.
Drain cleaning and hydro jetting with camera inspection, clearing grease, scale, and the roots that invade lines under Central Texas's mature shade trees.
Sewer line repair and replacement and trenchless sewers, diagnosing odors, slow drains, and yard wet-spots and restoring sewer lines, including the cast iron in older homes, often without digging up the whole yard.
Plumbing installation and repair, in some of the fastest-growing communities in Texas. We handle fixture upgrades, remodels, and installations, from faucets and sinks to toilets, showers, and garbage disposals.
Gas line installation and repair for water heaters, ranges, pool heaters, fireplaces, generators, and outdoor kitchens, plus outdoor plumbing and hose bibs built for the Texas heat.
Commercial plumbing service for the shops, offices, restaurants, and businesses growing across Austin and the greater Austin area.
Austin's very hard water is the plumbing story homeowners here know best. Central Texas sits on Edwards Plateau and Trinity Aquifer limestone. As water moves through that rock, it dissolves calcium and magnesium, producing some of the hardest water in the country. In Austin that means scale on fixtures, cloudy dishes, reduced water pressure from mineral buildup, and water heaters and appliances that wear out early. Water softening and filtration are the most requested upgrades, and our current offers include money off softeners and softener-plus-filtration systems.
Austin's geology is transitional. West of I-35 and MoPac, homes sit on Edwards Plateau limestone and rock (thin soil, rocky digging), while east of the interstate they sit on expansive Blackland Prairie clay. This clay swells and shrinks and can crack slabs and shear the pipes beneath them, so slab leaks are common across the older, eastern, and central parts of the city. Nearly every home is on a concrete slab (there are no basements here), and older homes may have cast-iron sewer lines and aging copper worth repiping. Summers are long and hot. Winters are mild but bring the occasional hard freeze (like February 2021) that bursts exposed and attic pipes.
Austin homeowners get our full range. We offer very hard water softening and filtration, slab leak detection and repair, water heater and tankless service, whole-home repiping, drain cleaning and hydro jetting, cast-iron sewer replacement and trenchless, gas lines, and frozen-pipe service. Our 4.8-star plumbers, including team members like Timothy, Scott, Mickey, and Dave, arrive on time, explain the work, and finish most jobs in one visit, with upfront pricing.
We're the punctual plumbers. “If there's any delay, it's you we pay!” If we're not on time, we pay you $5 for every minute we're late, up to 60 minutes or $300. See our guarantees.

From very hard limestone water and Blackland-clay slab leaks to new-construction plumbing and tankless upgrades, we know the plumbing challenges of fast-growing Austin.
We are fully licensed (Texas RMP license #M15007) and insured, with well-stocked trucks and plumbers answering the phone around the clock, so most jobs are finished in a single visit.
Austin plumbing follows the Central Texas calendar. Have your very hard water tested and add a softener or softener-plus-filtration system to protect fixtures, pipes, and the water heater. In summer droughts, water the foundation evenly to limit slab movement and watch for slab-leak signs. Before a hard freeze, wrap exposed and attic pipes and hose bibs. Flush the water heater once a year to clear scale.

I highly recommend this company. They were quick and responsive in scheduling my service, and the plumber they sent out was fantastic. Sometimes it’s hard to find a plumber, but search no more. Use them! I certainly will use them again. Most importantly, their prices are very reasonable and competitive.

Outstanding experience! A polite young man Mr. Amado handled a small repair for us, and everything went seamlessly. Scheduling through the call center was quick, communication was stellar, and the pricing and workmanship were top-notch. As someone who has worked in the service industry for a long time, I truly appreciate the commitment to customer service and communication training shown here. The quality of work still needs to stand the test of time, but the overall experience was 10 out of 10. I won't hesitate to use them again!

Daniel was great!! He was very prompt and explained the workings of the new water heater. The company is awesome. Now you could find a cheaper water heater and cheaper labor but I tried one of those water heaters from the big box store and it failed after only 4 years. The ones that Benjamin Franklin sells are MADE IN THE USA instead of a foreign country. Give them a try, you won’t be sorry!

10/10, no doubt about it. Lucas was prompt, professional, and knowledgeable. We had an issue with our water heater that left us without hot water or heat this fall. He quickly diagnosed the problems, explained his findings in excellent detail, and got everything fixed. He also went the extra mile in a couple of ways I didn’t expect, which I really appreciated. I’d absolutely recommend Lucas!

We had our water heater repaired and had a new water filter system installed after the technician suggested it. He was friendly and factual. After his visit we had to have another repair man to set the water heater temperature. Now it is working fine.

Christian was a very kind and pleasant young man. He did an exceptional job replacing my kitchen sink faucet and incinerator. He was thorough and helped to get the smell out of our pipes I would recommend him for any job.
Larry Murphy
Our plumber, Jared was efficient and understood our issue quickly! Very respectful of us and property and we highly recommend this company.
Jeremiah Fisher
A full gas water heater installation -- quick install with courteous service. Jon Hare and Luke Stelly gave excellent advice and were finished with the install in less 3 hours (including purchasing the unit itself)! Thanks!
Tammy Spencer
Luke was awesome! I am so happy that I picked your company to do my repair! I will be using your company again. Thank you for your awesome service! I would highly recommend your company to anyone needing service done at their home!

The guys were personable, have plumbing experience and seemed knowledgeable of the situation.
Austin sits atop Central Texas limestone (the Edwards Plateau and Trinity Aquifer), which loads the water with calcium and magnesium, among the hardest in the country. That scale clogs fixtures and shortens appliance life. A softener, often paired with filtration, is the fix, and we offer current savings on both. We'll test your water and size the right system.
Yes, especially east of I-35 and in older neighborhoods, where homes on concrete slabs over expansive Blackland clay see the ground shift and stress the pipes beneath the slab. We pinpoint slab leaks with acoustic and pressure testing and repair them before they threaten your foundation.
Tankless is popular here for endless hot water and efficiency, and we offer current savings on new installs. Because hard water scales any heater, we'll also talk through softening to protect your investment. We install and service both tankless and tank systems.
If you have recurring leaks, low pressure, or discolored water, yes. We evaluate the system and repipe in durable PEX, and handle cast-iron sewer lines in older homes.
Yes. Our plumbers answer around the clock, every day, backed by our On-Time and 100% satisfaction guarantees.
