Tankless Water Heater Installation

Did you know that a professionally installed and professionally sized tankless water heater installation means virtually never running out of hot water again? It's true! Instead of using a tank and continually heating and re-heating water, a tankless water heater heats the water as it passes through the unit only as needed. That means much less wasted water, not running out of hot water, and much higher energy efficiency. Plus, tankless water heaters are much smaller in size! If you're interested in upgrading to a tankless water heater, simply reach out to our expert plumbers today.

FAQs

What Are Some Common Water Heater Issues?

Water heaters are built to withstand daily usage. Unfortunately, due to the stress of repeated use, nearly all appliances will require repairs at some point. Regular maintenance and inspection can help prolong the life of your water heater. One common issue we see is sediment build up. Over time the minerals in your water supply can settle at the bottom of your tank and reduce its efficiency. While this issue can be fixed by flushing the sediment out of the tank, other common problems require repairs or replacements. Damage to values or the tank itself is not uncommon. You may also be experiencing loose connections, which are impacting your water heater’s function. Whatever issue you’re experiencing, our licensed plumbers have seen it all—and are happy to help get your hot water working again.

What Are Signs Your Water Heater is Going Bad?

The lifespan of your water heater will depend on the type you have and how well it’s been maintained. Gas and electric water heaters usually last 8-10 years. While tankless style water heaters can last 20 years or more. Whatever type of water heater you have, you should have it inspected annually to extend its lifespan as long as possible. However, all appliances eventually need to be replaced. Increasing water bills without any additional usage can be a telltale signal something is wrong. You may notice you don’t have the same available amount of hot water. Inconsistent or low water pressure can also be signs that your water heater is struggling to keep up. If you hear strange noises or see visible leaks around your unit, be sure to call a professional right away.

Is Water Heater Repair Worth It?

As a water heater ages, its efficiency may be impacted. While most traditional water heaters can last a decade or more, frequent repairs can add up. Ultimately, if the cost of repairing your water heater is more than 50% of the cost to replace it, we generally recommend replacement over repairing. Replacing your water heater can mean improved energy efficiency, higher hot water capacity, reduction in repair bills, and more reliability. Our team of licensed plumbers operates with a strict code of ethics. We strive to do what’s best for the customer. You can count on us to discuss your repair or replacement options honestly.

Jerry was very attentive today. He was honest on what needed to be done to fine our leaks. He was efficient while working on the tub and getting it done in a timely manner.

Carol Barry

Called on Sunday due to a leak. Very responsive. Nicholas came out and checked things and was in contact with his supervisor Tom who also came over. After much evaluation it was determined a pipe had broken under the foundation. They began repairs the very next day.

Susan Bavis

Michael just left our house and he did an amazing job! He immediately found the cause of all of our problems and very efficiently and pleasantly fixed them all. He’s leaving now and he didn’t leave anything undone even though he had to stay late for us. We are so thankful that he came right when he was supposed to and did a fantastic job and was super professional. We want Michael back every time we need a plumber from now on.

Jayden Miller

Allison MacWade

Sunday night I had noticed water damage in my bathroom coming from the condo above mine. I had text a few of my neighbors for plumber recommendations, and one of them recommended Benjamin Franklin Plumbing. I put a call in that night, and since it wasn't an actual emergency I said they could call me Monday to schedule someone to come out. I recieved a call Monday morning, and again, not an actual emergency, they scheduled me for Tuesday with my request because I was already off work that day. I got a phone call that afternoon letting me know Danny would be arriving soon, and he actually arrived earlier than dispatch said he would, which was nice. As a first time homeowner, I am still new to all of this, and he took the time to explain all options that were available to identify where exactly the leak was coming from with at little disturbance to my actual bathroom. After going upstairs to my neighbors condo, he was able to tell that the leak was coming from his shower drain. Thankfully my neighbor asked himnfor a quote to fix that along with replacing old valves throughout his home. I had a few other "issues" that I did want a plumber to look at, but they were livable and didn't call prior. So I asked Danny about the 2 other issues I had. He was able to fix my toilet within a few minutes, and as for my downstairs bathroom sink, he explained what the issue was and how they could fix it. He gave me a quote and I told him that he could schedule my service for whenever my neighbor was having his work done as to not have to make 2 separate visits out here. It was actually scheduled for Wednesday. But then there was an emergency and Danny said he wouldn't be able to make it that day, but assured me Thursday would work. He was in contact with me to let me know everything that was going on. Thursday is now here. And he came this morning to start work on my neighbors condo first, which required entering my unit to turn the water off. I had just gotten home from work when he was back to turn the water back on to both units and start the work with my sink. I could not have asked for someone better to come out and perform the work. He answered any silly questions I felt I had, but not once made me feel like it was a bother to him. I did ask him for a quote to replace my one toilet, and he sent that over before he even left my home. While the previous owner of my condo had some questionable things done here, Danny was able to address my issue as much as he could and make things flow better after his work was completed. He even said that he would look into seeing if there was anything else they could do to really address the issue without having to have all sorts of invasive work done, which is much appreciated. I can't recommend Danny enough for everything he's helped me with the past few days. He made this whole process feel so much less overwhelming!

Michelle Gilson

Just had a great experience with Northern Ben Franklin Plumbing. We spoke with Joe S. about our sewer line, then Felipe G. came out to clean it. They were both super informative, professional, and polite. We appreciate the great work they did and the fair, reasonable, and honest quote we received. Thank you!

Mike Schwartz

Mike arrived earlier than expected, which was great. He replaced a drain assembly, needed to correct and update the old pipe layout. He was friendly and explained everything. He made sure both the sink and dishwasher drained without leaking.

Benjamin Franklin came immediately after calling them! Their customer service from the get go was outstanding. Eric came to the house and performed an outstanding work, very knowledgeable, professional and friendly! They are great to work with, will definitely call them again for any plumbing issues!

Judy Deutsch

The plumber Ken came to assess my problem and he was excellent! He thoroughly explained the problem and what he would be able to do about it. He was also very courteous and even put coverings on his shoes to avoid getting the floor dirty. I can’t say enough about what a great job he did of telling everything I needed to know.
