Early on a Friday night, my husband and I smelled gas in our kitchen. We tried calling a plumbing service that we had used before. The woman said, "Oh, that's concerning!" about the gas leak and then gave us a next available appointment of the FOLLOWING TUESDAY. Ugh. (My husband was convinced that she was AI, and she might have been!) So I looked up Benjamin Franklin plumbing, who said they were available 24/7. Sure enough, a kind woman answered the phone immediately and told us that she would have a plumber out shortly. Dylan arrived promptly and figured out that there was no issue with the gas line, which meant that our range was the culprit. But we couldn't get that replaced on a Friday night, so we had him install a shut off valve on our gas line to the stove so that we could turn off the gas. To do so, Dylan had to turn off the main gas line to our house, which is a four unit lakehouse. After installation, when Dylan tried to re-ignite the pilot light on our water heater, it couldn't be done. The water heater was 20 years old and should have been replaced a long time ago! (Things like this happen when you co-own a property with other people!) Dylan offered to come out early the next morning and install a new water heater for us, which he did. He was an absolute professional and helped us out in an emergency. I have attached photos of the old water heater and the new one installed. I highly recommend this company.

Well pleased with Ben Franklin’s work today. Called this morning and told them we had a plumbing problem and they sent a technician two hours later. He diagnosed it, and within an hour had the matter resolved. Dependable, knowledgeable, and courteous are words to describe the two men (Nick and Bradyn) that came. Price was fair Will definitely call them again if we have a plumbing issue.

Very good response time. Clint came out the same day, diagnosed the issue, offered a choice of solutions with accurate cost estimates and installed the water heater the same day. He was very knowledgeable and professional. Nice company to do business with.

I have needed to use Ben Franklin twice recently for two different problems. Both times (unclogging a drain and fixing an outside leak) they were timely and did great work quickly. I will always call them for future plumbing problems.

To keep your water heater running smoothly in Hot Springs, it’s a good idea to flush the tank once a year to clear out sediment, especially if your area has hard water. Check the pressure relief valve, inspect for rust or leaks, and make sure the thermostat is set to a safe temperature (usually around 120°F). Regular maintenance helps extend the life of your unit and keeps your hot water flowing efficiently. For peace of mind, consider scheduling a professional inspection with a local plumber.
If your water pressure suddenly drops or only affects certain fixtures in your Hot Springs home, it could be a sign of a clogged pipe, leak, or a problem with your water supply. Try cleaning faucet aerators first, but if the issue persists, it’s best to call a licensed plumber in Hot Springs to diagnose and fix the problem before it gets worse.
We are available 24/7 to take your call for emergencies. Our appointment hours are listed above.

Yes! Upgrading to low-flow toilets, water-saving showerheads, and high-efficiency faucets can significantly reduce water use in your Hot Springs home. You can also install smart leak detectors and tankless water heaters for added efficiency. A local plumber can recommend the best options based on your home’s setup and water usage habits.
Older homes in Hot Springs often face plumbing issues like corroded or outdated pipes, low water pressure, and frequent leaks. You might also encounter problems with old fixtures, sewer line deterioration, or poor drainage. A professional inspection can help identify hidden issues and recommend upgrades to keep your plumbing system safe and efficient.
To get your plumbing ready for winter in Hot Springs, start by insulating exposed pipes, especially in unheated areas like basements and garages. Disconnect outdoor hoses, shut off exterior water lines, and check your water heater for optimal performance. It’s also smart to know where your main shut-off valve is in case of a frozen pipe emergency.
Signs of a damaged sewer line in your AR home include frequent drain clogs, foul odors, soggy spots in your yard, and gurgling sounds from your toilets or drains.
